HELPING MATRICULANTS APPLY FOR UNIVERSITY

by Nicole Mabuela | Nov 25, 2025 | 0 comments

For many learners, completing matric can feel overwhelming. The transition from high school to university or college requires information, confidence, and support that not all students have access to.

Vahluri Youth Development (VYD) steps in to close that gap.

The team assists matriculants with:

• University and college applications
• Course selection support
• NSFAS guidance
• Bursary information
• Deadline reminders
• One-on-one support sessions

These sessions help young people make informed choices about their future. Many learners simply need someone to show them where to start.

You hear it in their voices during the sessions—relief, hope, excitement about the possibility of studying further.

VYD’s goal is clear: walk with young people from high school into higher education so that no deserving learner is left behind due to lack of information or financial barriers.

Each successful application changes more than one life. It opens doors for families who never imagined a child progressing to university. It strengthens communities that need skilled young professionals. It builds a pathway to a more capable generation.

Your support can help more students submit their applications on time, access funding, and step confidently into their future.

Volunteers, mentors, and funders are welcome to join the mission.
